Mindful Body Care - A Greener Beauty Routine: Your Guide to Sustainable Beauty

Posted by Natalie Hughes on

In today's fast-paced world, self-care is more important than ever. However, as we focus on our personal well-being, it's crucial to remember the impact our beauty routines have on the environment. Mindful body care isn't just about looking good; it's about feeling good and doing good for the planet. Here’s your guide to creating a sustainable body care routine using eco-friendly products that harness the power of natural ingredients.

The Benefits of Natural Ingredients

Choosing products with natural ingredients isn't just a trend—it's a commitment to your health and the environment. Here are some compelling reasons to make the switch:

  1. Gentle on the Skin: Natural ingredients like essential oils and shea butter are known for their soothing properties. They nourish the skin without causing irritation or allergic reactions that synthetic chemicals often trigger.
  2. Rich in Nutrients: Plants and natural botanical extracts are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that help rejuvenate the skin, promoting a youthful and healthy appearance.
  3. Free from Harmful Chemicals: Many conventional body care products contain parabens, sulphates, and phthalates, which can be harmful over time. Natural products are free from these toxic chemicals, making them safer for long-term use and better for your skin.
  4. Environmentally Friendly: Ingredients sourced from nature are biodegradable and sustainable, reducing the ecological footprint of your beauty routine.

Steps to a Sustainable Body Care Routine

Transitioning to a greener beauty routine doesn't have to be overwhelming. Follow these steps to make a positive change:

1. Evaluate Your Current Products

Start by taking stock of your current body care products. Read the labels and identify any harmful ingredients. Replace these with eco-friendly alternatives that use natural ingredients. Our range of ingredient pure, sustainable products offers excellent options, ensuring that each item in your routine is kind to your skin and the planet.

2. Opt for Minimalist Packaging

Choose products that come in recyclable or biodegradable packaging. Many brands, including ours, are moving towards minimalistic packaging to reduce waste. Look for eco-friendly containers, recycled paper labels, and refillable options to minimise your environmental impact.

4. Support Ethical Brands

Do your research and support brands that are committed to sustainability. This means choosing companies that use ethically sourced ingredients, practise fair trade, and have transparent production processes. Our brand prides itself on these principles, ensuring that each product you purchase supports a greener future.

How Eco-Friendly Beauty Products Help the Planet

By choosing sustainable body care products, you're making a significant contribution to environmental conservation. Here’s how:

  • Reducing Pollution: Natural and biodegradable ingredients break down more easily in the environment, reducing pollution in water bodies and soil.
  • Conserving Resources: Sustainable brands often focus on reducing water usage and minimising carbon footprints in their production processes.
  • Protecting Wildlife: Eco-friendly products avoid harmful chemicals that can damage ecosystems and harm wildlife.
  • Promoting Biodiversity: Ethically sourced ingredients support sustainable farming practices, which in turn protect biodiversity and maintain healthy ecosystems.

Making the Switch

Switching to a greener beauty routine is a journey, not a one-time change. Start with small steps, like replacing one product at a time, and gradually build a routine that reflects your commitment to both your health and the planet. By making mindful choices, you can enjoy a beauty regimen that not only enhances your natural glow but also nurtures the environment.

The Old Faithful: Why Hand Cream is a must for your beauty routine

Posted by Natalie Hughes on

The last ten years have seen a massive rise in the prominence of skincare, with everyone and their sister now having a dedicated five step routine down pat. But did you know that your hands age just as fast as your face? The delicate skin on your hands cops heaps of exposure from the harsh Aussie sun, and can easily get damaged from everyday exposure to pollutants, hot water, chemicals or bleach.

All of this exposure can lead to very dry, cracked and damaged skin, causing your hands to develop early signs of ageing - things like pigmentation, wrinkles and thinning of the skin. This is why a daily hand care ritual is so important to include in your beauty routine! Thankfully, it’s not as involved as skin care - consisting of just one step to achieve results - hoorah! A simple application of hand cream on your hands and cuticles twice daily should do the trick to keep your skin healthy and rejuvenated.

At, all of our hand creams are naturally derived and made with the purest ingredients to soothe, hydrate and replenish your skin. Our Award-winning 100% Natural Bergamot & Rosemary Hand Cream is created with Shea Butter, an ingredient that helps soften the skin while also acting as a healing agent and anti-inflammatory. Its intense repair formula works in multiple ways to protect your skin from damage. The urea used in our hand cream aids in treating dryness, while working to smooth over the microscopic cracks that appear which cause the skin to become rough and sensitive. The miracle cream also contains the goodness of both Vitamin C (anti-aging) and Vitamin E (cell restoration antioxidant) to boost hydration and restore your skin back to its youthful state!

Advantages of implementing a daily hand care routine into your life go beyond anti-aging - it actually also helps protect you against infections. When your hands are dehydrated, the dryness can turn into cracked and bleeding skin, making them vulnerable to bacterial and viral infections. This is because damaged skin can harbour more nasty pathogens than hydrated skin. Our hydrating hand cream provides the benefits of shea butter that works alongside provitamin B5 to create a protective barrier on your skin, preserving the moisture and shielding your hands from irritation.

Involving hand cream as a daily part of our self care routine will help fight early signs of ageing, maintain skin health and keep any infections at bay. Achieve soft, healthy and youthful hands through proper care using a good quality hand cream. Our 100% natural Bergamot & Rosemary 120mL tube is truly a holy grail product for the team, with a divine scent and the added bonus of a gold tube key to ensure you get every last drop! (and looks cute). Eco-friendly, natural, beautiful hand care - has you covered.

Master Your Laundry Routine: Tips for Different Fabrics

Posted by Natalie Hughes on

At, we’re passionate about perfecting our laundry routines, so we’ve learned a thing or two over the years. In our quest for optimising our routine, we realised that many people aren’t aware that different materials require different care when it comes to washing. Natural fibres, such as wool and cashmere, together with functional wear using spandex and lycra, need a bit of extra TLC to preserve them and extend their life!

We’ve compiled a few handy tips to get you on your way to perfect laundry, specifically for these trickier items.

Activewear is an essential for many, with its versatile use for wearing out and about, running errands and of course, working out. Activewear conforms to your skin and is super comfortable for the every day, making it a great option for mums! However, they’re usually not cheap - especially your more premium activewear. To prolong the wear of your work out clothes as long as possible, a good laundry care routine is essential.

Activewear is often made using different types of synthetic fibres, including spandex and lycra (otherwise known as polyester and elastane). These fibres give your workout gear their stretch, but need to be cared for to ensure the elasticity of the garments are maintained over time. Read on for our top tips on how to best care for your activewear clothes.

  • Use a mesh laundry bag to put your clothes in. As they are made from synthetic fibres, workout clothes can emit microplastics, and the mesh bag helps to collect these microplastics, protecting your machine.
  • This might be a no-brainer, but activewear MUST be washed after every use. Although stretchy and comfortable, the material is usually not breathable and catches odour swiftly.
  • Using a gentle liquid detergent is a must. Our Sports Active Laundry Liquid is specially formulated to treat and wash activewear, using enzymes that are made specifically for removing stains and odours, while maintaining the quality, compression and breathability of the fabric.
  • Try not to use a fabric softener on these items, as they can destroy the stretch in the elastane. Instead, a simple wash with detergent will suffice.
  • When washing, use a gentle cycle on a cool setting of 30 degrees or less, as a cycle that is too hot could cause the clothes to lose their shape.
  •  Make sure you air dry your activewear items rather than tumble dry - it can be tempting to pop them in the dryer, but try to resist as it can cause damage to the fabric, as well as potential shrinking. Hanging dry is best!

Natural fibres such as wool, cashmere, alpaca wool and silk are notoriously difficult to wash, and won’t do well with a standard laundry routine. Luckily, the fibres naturally deflect dirt, which can usually be brushed off and does not penetrate the fabric as easily as other materials. In this way, natural fibres are very environmentally friendly, as they don’t need to be washed anywhere near as often as your sports fabrics or everyday wear. Generally, once or twice a season will do the trick.

That being said, although natural fibres don’t get dirty easily, they have a tendency to stain easily, and that’s where knowing how to care for them, particularly when removing stains, is essential to ensure their original form is maintained. Here’s a few handy tips to make sure your clothes are looking and smelling good as new when they’re cleaned!

  • Generally when it comes to cleaning items consisting of natural fibres, hand washing is best. However, check your care labels - some knitted garments such as woollens can be put in the wash on a cold setting and a ‘wool’ or ‘delicates’ cycle.
  • Treat stains as soon as they appear, as stains can become permanent on natural fibres a lot quicker than on synthetics. If you wait, you’ll find it much harder to lift the stain.
  • Garments using natural fibres should be washed with a mild detergent that is suitable for delicate materials. Our Wool & Cashmere Laundry Shampoo Concentrate is a great one as it is formulated without harsh chemicals such as optical brighteners, enzymes or dyes, protecting and preserving your delicate woollens.
  • Don’t wring your knitted items out, or scrub them. Take care to treat your items carefully to maintain the shape of the garment.
  • If your item ends up losing shape, you can get it back to its former condition by simply stretching the garment with firm, regular movements.
  • Avoid hanging knitted garments, rather you should lay the item flat on a dry towel and roll up to absorb the moisture, or, for woollen items, a low spin cycle of less than 800 RPM can be used to dry.
